Eastern Cape Holidays
The wild, craggy coastline of the 125-mile Garden Route hides peaceful beaches, surfing waves and a wealth of marine life. Slightly inland lie the deep grottoes of the Cango Caves and Oudtshoorn’s ostrich farms. To follow the route you’ll need to begin in Cape Town and drive eastwards, where we then recommend stopping off at Knysna’s lagoon and the beaches of Plettenberg Bay for whale and dolphin watching. You can also hike the trails in Tsitsikamma National Park and explore the rugged coastal scenery of Storms River, home to the world’s highest commercial bungee jump. The route ends in Eastern Cape which is the perfect place for a safari. The region is home to Addo Elephant National Park, one of South Africa’s most accessible game reserves, and Shamwari Game Reserve, home to the Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre.
